My 20+ years in Accounting gives me a perspective that’s right in line with my clients’ needs. Working in Recruiting and Placement for over 10 years, I see both sides of the job picture and help both parties find the right fit.
In my Financial career, I worked in roles from Staff Accountant through Controller/Director at publicly traded manufacturing firms. I’ve been involved in Accounting, Reporting & Analysis, Cost Management, and Systems Design & Implementation. In my last accounting role, I was the Division Controller for a Firetruck Manufacturer!
I have been a Board Member and an Officer for the Tampa Bay Chapter of Financial Executives International (FEI) and the Institute of Internal Auditors and I remain very involved as a Board Member for FEI to this day.
What I like most about my job at Vaco is the freedom it gives me to focus on the things I enjoy as well as the ability to work with friends and network connections. I enjoy the collaborative engagement I have with my clients, and I also mentor several developing Accounting &Finance people. I truly value the relationships I make with professionals at all levels.
What about life outside of Vaco? I am “Underdog” to my wife’s “Sweet Polly” when she goes to review restaurants for her blog (http://sweetpollyfood.blogspot.com/) and her newspaper column (WTFork at TBO.com). My wife and I love food and – along with her fellow bloggers – we are trying to improve the Tampa area food scene by providing unbiased, 3rd party, reviews of non-chain restaurants. If you see us out; pretend you don’t know us.
